Tina Stothard is unable to co-facilitate November's workshop but I am looking forward to working with Gayle Quinn who is currently studying to be a counsellor.

25/6/09 After a change in Coordinators at the Women's Community Centre of South Australia (WCCSA), we needed to discuss our project with the new leadership team. We are thankful and relieved that they have given their full support to our endeavours. We are currently in the throws of meeting with some interested prospective funders. I won't post anything up here though until we have some definite outcomes. Felicity

On Thursday the 12th of February 2009 Mothers Be HEARD realized a dream when it ran the Transitions Workshop - Becoming a Mum. It was an absolute pleasure to meet with other women to discuss the changes that they have noticed most since becoming a mum, and to receive valuable (and very positive) feedback about the proposed topics for a more detailed workshop.

I co-facilitated the workshop with Tina Stothard who is a mother of 3 boys and has a background in Psychology. Tina is interested in how mothers come to understand themselves after they have their children, and was keen to volunteer her time when she heard about what I was wanting to do.

The workshop was held at the Women's Community Centre in Stepney, Adelaide, and I am extremely grateful to Marilyn Rolls (Centre Coordinator) for enthusiastically supporting this venture. We are now working on trying to secure some funding to allow for the continuation and development of these workshops at the Centre. I will update on here as soon as I know more.
