This book covers the stories of thirty-six women who changed the course of Australian history.  What I loved most about this book was getting an up-close-and-personal account of these women's lives.  It was so inspiring reading about these gutsy women who lay the foundation for the society we live in now. Susanna De Vries has certainly done her research and makes sure that these women’s stories of tenacity, vibrancy, compassion, strength, creativity, humility, and business acumen don’t get buried by the dominant patriarchal discourse of their day.
