17 mothers have contributed to this book. Stories about births, babies and beyond. I love this book, and it's sequel, so much that when no one returned the one I loaned out, I asked my husband to buy me another from eBay so I could read it during this pregnancy. There are pieces in here that are intellectual, some that are sad, but most cover in some way how 'motherlove' is something that can't be found in the normal 'instructional' books. I devour these books, over and over again during my pregnancies, and often when I'm not pregnant too. They're not too intellectual for me, but at the same time get me thinking about things in a different way, which I love. It's also quite nice to know that people we 'know', like Noni Hazelhurst, Monica Trapaga, Rachel Ward, and others, have had motherlove experiences that are both 'normal' and personal, just like the rest of us have. We know that every mother has a story, for each child, and it's so amazing to read this fantastic collection of stories from others. Love it, love it, love it! I could read six more just like it, as long as they're not about death, or injury, or letting go of the children - birth, babies & beyond is just up my alley, then!
