Defaultlinks in the chain

Well here it is......my Mother is dead and here I am......I am now the matriach in my family. Scarey zone.......

My Mother won't be here to see my daughter through her teen years, to impart much needed wisdom when her own Mother "just doesn't get it, you know" to be a listening ear and the person for whom my daughter can do no wrong even if she's driving me up the wall.http://www.mothersbeheard.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif

She won't be here to see my son loom over me in height, to celebrate with him his first shave, first date, P plates, teen angst.......

I had a Grandma who thought I was wonderful, could do no wrong, and that was such a gift. She was cool that when I was 21 and she thought a fur coat was a good birthday present, or maybe a good tennis racquet when what I needed was actually a good set of steel radial tyres for my car, she could come to the party and very happily wrote me a cheque for tyres.....

If you have a Mum then cherish her every day she's interested in your child/ren

What a wonderful thing to be a link in the generational chain passing down the good things of life. I am so priveledged to have had my Mother's love and interest in my adult life and in the life of my children.

Call your Mum and tell her that you too are grateful and that you cherish her.
Because one day you will look at the phone, at the instrument that used to connect you almost daily but there will be no number to reach her.........

Defaultlegacies

that is a touching post :::iona:::, and it reminds me how precious it is to have our loved ones around and how important grandparents are. You may feel like the link has been broken, but I was wondering what legacies your mum has left in your life and in the lives of your children that keep her spirit (and the link) alive?

Warm thoughts http://www.mothersbeheard.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif
