SmileThe Joys

In recent weeks our youngest son has been disgnosed with ADD. Which means that he can be easily distracted and forgetful, but one of the wonderful things about children with ADD is their ability to see the world in a different way. All children do this for us, they show us the world trhough new eyes if we take the time to look. I learned to see the world one way with with my older son and now I am learning to see it all over again in a completely different way. This is one of the greatest joys of children.http://www.mothersbeheard.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

PostThe beauty of chalk & cheese

What a challenge for you to go thru with your son's diagnosis. I hope you have all the support, resources & encouragement you need to go on this journey.

I agree with you about seeing the world differently through your kid's eyes. I love watching my 2 look at life from different angles! It's so refreshing, one is academincally inclined, the other is creative. They both find joy in each other, as well as in us, one is a collector, the other will ask for a flower, and have it completely destroyed by the time we're home (hey- there's a positive in almost anything if I look hard enough! I don't have to find something to store more flowers in!) they both love books, one i can't get enough books for, the other can't get enough of the books we have! they both love to cook with me, and climb on daddy. I just love that if #1 does something this way at age x #2 will do it differently when that time comes. Mind you, we have normal sibling stuff, too, #2 loves to clone #1, who hates it!
