Boys Struggling With School

I am the mother of two boys, one aged 6 and the other 8. I used to struggle so much with regards to getting my boys to sit down and read/ write. Their results at school reflected this. I felt so guilty as a mother because I couldn't get them to achieve. Everything was just "too boring" for them. (Anyone else have this problem?) I dreaded school Parent Teacher evenings. I knew my boys weren't stupid, its just that if they felt something was boring they would just switch off. I tried everything. Reading comics with them, spelling competitions at home....Eventually they would just get that glazed look in their eyes and went off into "la la" land. I was so scared about their futures.

I researched everywhere for fun, interactive English games. Everything I found was so boring (even I got bored) I was just about ready to pull all of hair out!! Finally I found a website: Intrepica which the boys just love. I actually can't get them off the computer. For all the mothers out there with boys who are not interested in English at school - use this website! It worked so well. My boys are actually interested in English AND their marks have improved. I no longer feel so guilty. (It seems guilt and motherhood go hand in hand.)
